-pops-
"Cheesed" isn't really the word I want to use but, this being a family forum, it will have to do.The reason is that I am getting sick and tired of having to log on to the admin section numerous times a day recently in order to delete certain new members and their associated posts/threads. I know other mods are having to do the same. These people are insistent in sending wholly pointless comments/advertising their wares and generally being a nuisance. To anyone thinking of continuing this, don't bother. Despite my finger-ache of continual deletions, we will continue to eliminate posts and ban people who do this so, to all who do this:DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME(This will probably have no effect whatsoever but it made me feel better). doug
No, it's not power to his elbow but Asprin for his finger and for the rest of us Mods.
AlanHo
No, it's not power to his elbow but Asprin for his finger and for the rest of us Mods.If it has become such a major chore - perhaps you need more mods to share the load. I confess to being guilty of quite regularly reporting SPAM and other undesirable posts - because I am a professional amnesiac and get up before most of you. I sympathise with pops - some of the overnight posts are pathetic.

AlanHo
Alan, you could become a mod - but you would need to behave then! :lol:I am afraid I am too gullible and easily led astray by miscreants like andsome, Catgate and Gandalph. Not only that - I have a soft spot for the ladies here and would find it impossible to moderate them in any way...................... ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
I rarely login to the Admin account; I usually use the 'Warn' thingy to permanently disable spammers.Deleting a user name (from Admin) will allow the spammer sign-up again under the same name. The only time I use the Admin account is to mass delete multi spams from a user, which is rare. andsome
The mods on here do a first class job. It's a pity there are so many idiots out there mucking thing up for everyone else. More power to your elbows folks. Just one question. Do you have a block on web based e mail being used for log in and registration? If not, this may help, making these people use a standard e mail address. :D

The IDF50 forum insists on that. My main two email accounts, which I use the most, are both web based and therefore would not be permitted. :(
