artist
I just opened it and was informed it was updating.I composed my email and can't get past the 'smpt timed out' message.I went on to the thunderbird site and there are loads of disgruntled people on there with the same problem. No one has bothered to even try to help.Any sugestions?(I HAVE to sent this email. Our friends' 35 year old son has just died)

Irene
Perhaps you could 'roll back' the update....Is there anything HERE which might help you to do that?

AlanHo
My Outlook Email came out in sympathy with your Thunderbird this morning and refused to download messages. It would send but not receive.I took your hint - rebooted the computer - and all was well again.....
