AlanHo
Wooden spoons are great. You can either use them to prepare food. Or, if you can't be bothered with that, just write a number on one and walk into a pub.

When you order food at the bar in some pubs, they give you a wooden spoon with a number painted on it. You then display it on your chosen dining table so that the waiting staff can find you when your order is ready. ;)

I too was wondering what it was all about.Up here in God's own country Brit things tend to be a bit thin on the ground. You may be given a wooden spoon, with which to eat your Yorkshire pudding, but for anything else it would seem bizarre. bludgard
Thanks for enlightening me,Irene. :) I was just about to try this at a local "pub" here by the name of McCary's.Probably would have been a good conversation piece.I'll still give it a go when I find a chance.Give these rubes some old-school culture!
