richedie
We bought new motherboard, hard drive, video card, monitor, and DVD drive last December and it has been nothing but issues. We bought from Alpha Computers as I have for years. I have always had good luck. This time, the PC is always freezing, I have reimaged Windoes and still freezes all the time. I can't even burn DVDs without getting IO errors! I am really sick of the freezing. Sometimes it is silent and other times we get beeping, or a constant beeeeeeepppp! At that point we have to manually shut it down. The store has no solution for us other than an additional fan for the video card. Yippee, it still freezes! Thanks for listening and let me know if you have advice.
bludgard
It may help to know what OS you are using and maybe a little information on your hardware.
-pops-
It would be a good idea to have the motherboard checked out on a test jig. Does your supplier have such a thing?
Digerati
Yeah, specifics about the hardware would be nice. Who assembled it? Did you apply a proper layer of TIM (thermal interface material) when mounting the CPU's heatsink fan (HSF) assembly? Are you 200% sure there is nothing foreign under the motherboard, like an extra standoff? What are your temps?Note that freezing and sudden reboots can be caused by many things - which makes troubleshooting difficult. Potential causes could be bad RAM, bad PSU, heat, failing motherboard, or fail graphics, to name a few.

richedie
It may help to know what OS you are using and maybe a little information on your hardware.Sorry! Been sick and away for a while! It is a PC I had built by Alpha Computers. Windows XP Home with latest SP, ASUS M4A77TD,Acer Monitor X183H, Sony DVD drive, Sony CD drive, AMD Athlon II X2 250, Network Adapter Realtek PCIe GBE, USB mouse, wireless keyboard,NVIDEA GForce 8400 GS (Video Adapter). I believe the CPU was on the motherboard since I saw him install and it was all in one. First time I brought it in they said the video card was overheating so they added a fan. Can they just test the RAM, etc? I might ask if they could keep it a few nights since they have more diag tools that myself. Pisses me off because this is pretty new and should not be freezing all the time, and sometimes it will boot and hand at the Bios screen, other times it will freez and making screeching noises through the speakers.THanks guys!
