Google Chrome problem...

Recommended Posts

My website 'had a Youtube File' on it. I have recently removed the YouTube file from my website. Now, when I view my website through Internet explorer... the YouTube file is not present (which is the way I want it to be), but when I view the site with 'Chrome', the YouTube file is still there. How is this possible???? I completely removed the file from my page and republished the page. But I STILL see the youtube file when I view my site through Chrome and I don't see the file when I view my website through IE.

To make matters more ridiculous... I completely deleted the page from my website, then completely reconstructed the page from nothing. AND... the 'youtube' file is STILL there when I view my site through Chrome. How the freak is this possible?

I mean... the memory of 'Chrome' is better than the world's population of elephants.

Is this phenomenon on other computers using Chrome?

If not, try a re-install of Chrome.

The page must be retained somewhere on your computer in a Chrome cache file.

I don't use Chrome - so cannot suggest a specific solution. The cache may be here

(data Volume):\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Application Data\Chromium\User Data\Default\Cache

For data volume substitute C or D or wherever your docs are stored

Even if you uninstall then re-install Chrome it still "secretely" keeps lots of data from the old installation. Also deleted pages on servers don't actually get deleted, they're simply stored somewhere else & for some reason Chrome is connecting you to that "somewhere else." Finally, lots of software (e.g. Adobe Flash, Picasa & Google Earth) keep old information even from previous installations hidden on you computer. I suggest you browse through the Chrome Help pages here: Chrome Help for some more information about dealing with this problem.

Before reinstalling Chrome try clearing the browsing data and refreshing the page.

Click on the spanner icon to the top right and select Options from the dropdown menu. Select the "Under The Bonnet" tab from the resultant window and click on the "Clear Browsing Data" button.

Ive cleared the 'Chrome Cache' and the 'Chrome history' and browsing data several times. It didn't help at all.

This is driving me crazy.

I uninstalled/reinstalled Chrome for the 2nd time (this time I restarted my laptop before I reinstalled it). Then I deleted the webpage and reconstructed it. Anyhow...it worked....no more freakin' file. My only explanation is.... I was using the 'favorites' link to access the webpage (but I was refreshing the page as well...so who freakin' knows). Anyhow...its done.

Thanks for all the help.

Yes I have also this type of problem. My chrome is corrupted without any reason. I have been facing this problem.

And the conclusion you have reached is ??????????????

(I wont go off into a well rehearsed rant, - keep the moderators busy, - push up my "Warn Status", or try to get this one locked, - I promise. :) )

I will just offer this simple link: ;) - http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Chrome . -

Which undoubtedly no-one with problems with the Chrome browser will be the slightest bit interested in following.
