I'm entitled to one but have never bothered. The Bus service around here is terrible. :(

We both have one, but the buses round her are few and far between, and real old bone shakers. 'Er indoors occasionally uses one, but I refuse to endanger myself on them.

Well at least you have a few andsome. We have two that go to Berwick each day. By the time you catch the first one to go the shops, it has gone back to Duns when you have finished the shopping and you have to wait three hours to catch the next one back. People wonder why you need a car when you live in the sticks. :D

We have to walk about 150 yards from our grove to the local bus route iin the next road from where buses into Solihull only run every half hour. Not only are they so infrequent, they are often late by as much as up to 5 minutes.

To get a more reliable service we would have to walk half a mile to the main Stratford Road where buses run into Solihull in one direction, and Birmingham in the other direction, every 6 minutes.

Fortunately - at present - both bus services accept our bus passes which are getting very dog-eared with use since we moved house last October. I had not travelled on a bus for many years until we moved home and was truly amazed at how well designed the modern buses are with lots of knee room in the seats, the bus kneels down at the stop so it is easy to get on and off and the seats are upholstered rather than with wooden slats. I miss the open platform with the central chrome pole though. Oh, by the way, they no longer have bus conductors.

I was merely pointing out how fortunate we have been to have carefully chosen somewhere to live where such a good quality of bus services can be enjoyed..........

I certainly consider myself very fortunate.

Problem is, when I go shopping the bags are too heavy to carry, so I take the car.

However, for example, when I go to the local Records Office chasing genealogy info, it is brilliant because I don't have to consider car parking times and charges.

Also when I used to (now no longer) had hair colouring at the hairdressers, which took approx 2 hours, the bus service was invaluable. It was just a stroll down the road in town to the bus-stop and a short journey home. ;)
