andsome
I called it the dreaded wedding, because in company with millions more I dreaded putting on the television and having it rammed down my throat. Of course some coverage was expected, but NOT to that extent. It took up most of the news bulletins, and was mentioned on a good many of the other programmes too. Even 'Er indoors agreed that it was grossly over cooked, and she likes to see frocks etc. It was even on the news this morning, they said that shortly they would be reviewing the security needed for the Middleton's now that their daughter was royalty. How the hell can anyone be interested in that? I don't know about me giving it a rest, it's about time the media did.
Belatucadrus
As I said I quite enjoyed the wedding, but if the Telegraph can't find somebody, anybody to plaster over the front page in the next few days I will be severely bored.
bludgard
From the States:The Royal Wedding is and has been covered ad nauseum here as well.Although I enjoyed watching the ceremonies the first couple of times, the wife and I have almost been in a tiff over what is on the tele. She could watch the coverage for days, months, even years! the same could be said of Charles and Diana's wedding. I have had enough. They are a beautiful couple and I wish them well.Man has been struggling to create a Utopian goverment for ages. We have tried Despotism to Theocracy. And everthing in between. I feel it is another evolutionary journey that will end when we finally take personal responsibility for our own lives and actions. When we realize that what we do has an effect on other people and the planet we live on and act responsibly on this realization, then maybe we could do away with all forms of government and truly live as a global family...without the mother-in-law. It is us poor folk who bear the brunt of lavish and/or irresponsible spending of our leaders. Hence all the revolutions throughout the ages. It is my opinion that no amount of legislation or war will ever suffice to bring about a peacable home-either locally or globally. It was obviously very news worthy, but this morning they are already flogging it to death. We will probably see all the family photo's soon.
