The result was examined and passed with flying colours. It seems to be quite a common problem. If it occurs again MSE is for the scrap heap, and I will pay to renew my Nod 32 subscription. All has been absolutely A1.If you prefer to pay for your protection, then so be it.Why would you pay for something when you can have a perfectly good alternative for free? Despite me nagging him about getting his computer backed-up for a long, long time, he had no back-up. He called in a computer repairer that advertises in a local paper, who replaced the drive and loaded the machine with Windows 7 (it was previously Vista) and Norton anti virus. They charged him £95 including VAT - surprisingly cheap for a new hard drive, Windows 7, call out cost and labour.He had problems with Norton and at my suggestion loaded MSE which was fine for a few days and it then threw up the same warning message. I took a look at the machine and found that his Windows 7 was a corporate edition which I thought should only be used within one organisation. He has now changed to AVG to resolve his problem.Although his Windows 7 installation is presumably "dodgy" - he is able to download updates without any problem but MSE decided it didn't like it.I know your computer was built by a local computer shop - what version of Windows 7 did they provide?.
