Lamb Chop
I may well be going completely nuts - but seem to have lost the ability to have Firefox open as well as say Thunderbird and go back and forth clicking the icon on the task bar when either open. Now have to minimize them to find the task bar. And the add on bar on Firefox now where the task bar was.Hope that makes sense. Using versions 17 on Firefox Thunderbird.Checked with IE 8 same so must be my computer settings not the programs - I did it - hands up - guilty.Started with update from MS I think suddenly got the open icons grouped on the right hand side of task bar with all on fast start showing and had to go up or down button to get back to them so moved the division back to the left and went back to first 3 fast start and click to get rest as usual. So what did I do wrong? Anyone know?
rong
If you right click the task bar then properties is the box clicked to keep the task bar on top
Lamb Chop
Thanks Rong I really I do wonder sometimes if I have gremlins living in my particular computer - now I didn't alter that but something did. Maybe an update or sometimes think it is M$ on monthly patches etc.Merry Christmas to you and all who post here and a safe and prosperous New Year - we all need that I suspect
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
...have Firefox open as well as say Thunderbird and go back and forth clicking the icon on the task bar when either open.Wouldn't it be very much easier to switch between applications using the keyboard shortcut Alt+Tab? I never use the Taskbar to go to any application.

Boris
If you keep the Alt key held down, and then press Tab and then Tab again etc. it pops up a list which then cycles through all the open Windows on your O/S.See :- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alt-Tab
