Irene
Hi johnoo!I have just received an email notification about your post, so I'm not sure why you are not receiving them. The system obviously works okay.
johnoo
Irene,Very strange.I've attached a copy of my settings, would you please check they are inline with yours.Thankswindows F.pdf
Irene
One difference at first glance, is that you are running on Windows 8 and I am on Windows 7. I wonder if that could have any relevance? My Notification page looks different...
johnoo
Irene,I don't think it's any different. I Just truncated what I sent to just show the areas that are checked, for some reason they have come out as a cross rather than a tick. What is different is that other than the top area "Privacy Settings" you do not appear to have any of the boxes checked. Is this the cause? Irene
Here are my settings. You could try reflecting them on your PC and see if it makes any difference... Notification Preferences.pdf
johnoo
OK, done that now, only difference was that I also had "Auto follow topics I reply to" checked.Saved new settings, done restart.Let's see what happens after your next post ( if you are not exasperated with this topic). johnoo
Decided to have another post to try to find why I am not getting e mails to advise of new posts. This is the only forum that gives me this problem. For all of the others ,Trip Advisor/Open Office/BT Community, I always get a e mail.So can anybody give a clue or idea of what to do? Irene
Have you ever received notification emails from previous threads? If you have, the only suggestion I can think of, is that you try starting another thread for this issue and see if that works for your email notifications. If it does, then there must be some strange reason peculiar to this one.
johnoo
Irene,Good Idea, I'll not add to this posting, but will open a new one called " Why no E Mails to Posts I've made" in the same area of the Forum. Thanks for your help. Belatucadrus
Could it be falling foul of your ISPs Spam filter ?
Irene
Could it be falling foul of your ISPs Spam filter ? That is a great suggestion B. Definitely worth checking your spam box, johnoo.
Belatucadrus
I get a circular from a Fan club site and it always gets bunged in the spam bin I have no idea how many times I've ticked "not spam" and been told I will henceforth receive mail from this sender. Never makes any difference next time round spam binned again.
