johnoo
Is it me or are others finding that Favourites that have been set go missing & perhaps even Favourite Folders get deleted?
Gandalph
Iv'e never had to problem on my Laptop with Windows 10. Imported them from a thumb drive and they have been there ever since. I would have a look around the settings and make sure you have got everything set up OK.
Boris
Never used Edge - it is too "edgy" (buggy) to my biased eyes !

I know I did not delete a complete Folder & two separate web sites in another Folder. Good that I have a Back up & re install procedure. johnoo
I am now convinced there is a problem. I have found today another Folder of 81 Bookmarks has gone missing. Any others having same problem?
AlanHo
I can't understand how the Edge favourites work or where they are stored. There is much conflicting evidence on the web about it. The favourites I imported to Edge from IE are still there - but I can't find the way to get them to remain in logical order. When I sort the favourites with my folders first in alpha order followed by individual favourites - the next time I boot up they have changed order again with folders mixed up with individual favourites. After much ado I have gone back to IE but find that it too can prove flaky on certain sites - as are Chrome and Firefox.

Alan, Have now had it confirmed from the M/Soft Forum that there is a known problem that causes lose of Favorites & their Folders in Edge. Perhaps this 3rd Party utility could help you in getting your Edge favorites in the correct order. Just d/load & select sort. http://www.emmet-gray.com/Articles/EdgeManage.html
AlanHo
Johnoo - thanks for that - it works a treat. My only concern is that the new version of Windows 10 will start downloading on August 3rd which will include a shed load of tweaks and additions. I hope this Edge tweak doesn't clash or not work with the new Windows.

So do I Also I'm trying out Firefox instead of Edge, I'm getting upset by losing so many Bookmarked sites & even Folders of Bookmarks. Can't see why they released the product in that state. Hope they don't do defense contracts!
andsome
I use IE and have no problems with favourites, however, I am not over impressed with Windows 10. I got on great with Windows 7. Why do MS think that everything they do is better than before?
AlanHo
I have continued to use IE as my default browser but I find that it sometimes decides to reload a site. It's OK when I am just browsing but a bugger when I am half way through typing a post and I lose what I have typed. The problem started a few months back and was not too often - but the frequency is increasing week by week to the point where I have now changed to Firefox as my default browser. Now that my EDge favourites problem seems to be resolved I may well start to use EDge by default. There is no point in hanging on to IE now that Microsoft don't support it fully. I have had no problems with Windows 10. I don't like the tiled interface so I have installed Stardock Start10 which gives me a Windows 7 desktop and start menu. The result is that I really like Windows 10 - now it behaves the same as Windows 7 but with much greater speed and stability.

I to do not have any issues with IE, I just find Edge faster & a better method of getting to Bookmarks. But, & it's the big one, the issue of individual bookmarks & bookmark folders disappearing in Edge. Alan, if you start using Edge, urge you to watch out for this. Would also be nice to know if this problem is to be cured within the 3rd August update, but how can one find the information?
