Gandalph
It was made for people just over Eight feet tall, or thereabouts, so no-one could read there PIN number.
catgate
I believe it is says on the front panel "Bring your own steps".
Gandalph
That would be perfectly reasonable catgate. Think of all the hassle you would have on a bus or The Underground if you were travelling in from the suburbs.

Gandalph
There are five in Duns and it's only a small Market Town that you could drive a Golf Ball over.

andsome
A long walk just to knock a silly little ball down a silly little hole. What gives with all the stupid terms, albatross, eagle, bogey, birdie etc?

Exactly the same thing applies to another game using the terms bias, jack, heavy, rink - at least with golf you get a nice long walk PS - I play neither game. andsome
The term bias means that the side with the bias will tend to turn the bowl away from its line of travel. Jack is the term for the bowl at which the player has to aim, it is just a sensible name for it. The term jack means a small ball, from the term jack rabbit meaning a small rabbit. Rink is where the match takes place, and heavy means that the bowl was sent too heavily, and will end up easy past the jack. The terms used in golf are meaningless, just birds names.
