We are jetting off to Madeira in the morning. Managed to get her PowerTrike into the car together with her wheelchair. Just enough room for a couple of cases. Have booked a taxi for Funchal airport. If it turns out to be a mini there'll be some fun. Will let you know how it goes. This is a dry run for future expeditions with her PowerTrike. I only hope the battery lasts out on the hills over there, if not I'll have to do a lot of pushing. She has an ambition to do one of the Lavadas - what ever they are. Will report on return.

Now all you members of the working classes, noses to the grind stone and I might think of you all when we return and I'm resting up.

PS. Have thrown in my trainers and shorts - might get the odd jog in! :D

Just scribbled that on the print off. Have made a posting on the PDQ mobility forum that has been set up by the PowerTrike manufacturer. Got insomnia again so I'll post a link to that as well. http://www.pdqmobility.com/ just to pass the time. Worried about some of the comments regarding the life of the battery. Mind we have been up to 6 miles including some sharp slopes. Given that Madeira is a bit hilly I might have to do some push assists up the mountain. :D

Well we arived OK. Newcastle couldn´t have been more helpful. We´re staying at the Hotel Girassol. Went down into Funchal today, herself on her PowerTrike - much interest in the Trike. hey these Portugese keyboards are all about face. As suggested am surfing from the Hotel 1 Euro for 15 mins so haven´t got long. Herself is having a doze. Will check in again as and when I get time off. :D

Maybe if you go to the home page of your ISP and look carefully you will see 'MAIL'. NTL certainly offer this facility, and I just click onto it and enter my password and e-mail address when prompted. I can then read e-mail online, and send if I want to. Anyway, just have a damned good time, and try the 'Madeira', its gorgeous.

Got it sorted. They´ve given me a slight variation on logging in for my mail. So I´ve sent No.2 daughter request for e-addresses for comunication. These Portuges/Spanish keyboards are a**se about face. Had a great couple of days. The Tropical garden here above Funchal is fantastic. did it last year as part of a coach trip. Today we went up by taxi. Found wonders and delights we didn´t know existed. Spent 5 hours there. My leg muscles must be back in trim. I usually explore the terrain before I let Anne commit to each route. God knows how muc I´m walking. She says she will sit in the hotel tomorrow while I go for a jog along the new Promenade that we explored yesterday. Some steep slopes on it but great fun with the Trike. Have some good pictures will post some on return. I know my spelling is attrocious at the best of time but I cannot find IE-spell so please forgive the typos. I´m a bit concerned about security. In case I can´t work it out, how do I ensure I wipe out my surfing history. I note the after my first visit here and elsewhere I don´t have to re-log in so I´ll see how I can clear the history. Any suggestions to ensure I´ve done it properly will be welcome. Any news about you offspring yet andsome?
