Real: by the destruction and carnage caused by a combination of an excess of the liquid and "control" (ahem) of almost any mechanical device but especially a motor vehicle.Imagined: by a somewhat larger excess consumption of said liquid and the effect on the normal and proper working of the brain. This used to go by the euphemism DTs. :( Results of both these types of effects can be seen at any time, but especially weekend evenings and nights, in any Accident and Emergency department of a hospital.
