If I may be so bold as to offer a possible theory.

All websites on the internet have an address. This address is in the form of a set of numbers (eg 192.168.1.5), known as IP. Now it is almost impossible for the average person to know or remember these numbers, so it is translated into a more usable form known as domain names (eg Windowsforum.org).

When you type a domain name into your browsers address bar, it will be checked against a DNS Server, which , if it has the correct information, will translate the domain name into the correct IP address. The request for the webpage can then be forwarded to the correct server, in order to be returned to the user.

Now Craig states that there is a problem with his hosting sites DNS Server, this means that if somebody tries to access this site, and the DNS Server cannot respond with the correct IP address, then your browser will be unable to load the page you are looking for.

This is a VERY brief description of what happens, but it may help answer Nellies "why?".

Regards. Mr. M.
