Tankus
Police today seized more than half a tonne of ammonium nitrate fertiliser which could have been used to carry out a terror bombing on UK soil. Eight suspected Islamic terrorists, all British citizens of Pakistani descent, were arrested as 700 officers carried out 24 raids across London and the Home Counties. Anti-terrorist detectives believe an al Qaida-supporting cell could have been plotting a "spectacular" attack.Independent
Besty
When you think about it it is quite impossible to stop these :censored: but the peelers seem to e doin ok. Is there any point at all to these attacks
Guest Blink_182_fan
well it was said that the al Qaida were most likely to attack the uk and the phrase was used by a reporter "if the al Qaida had a list of contrys that they wanted to attack we would most likely to be the number one target" or something along that lines. I cant remeber it was about a month ago now
-pops-
One of the big problems in this is that ammonium nitrate is so very widely used as a fertiliser on farms. Half a tonne isn't very much in farming terms and that amount can easily be replenished by anyone with a mind to do so. Let's hope that the main perpetrators have been caught. pwp
because genuine muslims would prefer to support other muslims even fundamentalists before christians.
Intratech
Now this stinks. If that's the case then the father should, being a good citizen, give the names of these bombers and fundamentalists from the mosque to the coppers. I know that an attack in the UK is inevitable, as stated by the top cop, but what surprises me is that it seems that the UK will be attacked by British citizens. That's just :censored: up. Intratech
I think they are Muslims first British second. :(I think that should read:They are terrorist/fundamentalist (extremist) first, British second.I know a few Muslims who, if i'm a good judge of people, are quite disgusted by the actions of these idiots and their using Islam. Agent Smith
Please all, do not let this thread degenerate into a race/religious bashing topic.Like Intratech, I know several Muslims who are as appalled by the current goings on, as you or I. We cannot allow the actions of a few, to become our guideline for an entire race. That is part of what the extremists would like. :( Please consider your posts carefully before replying, as all derogatory or defamatory statements will be removed without warning.Thank you. Hurdy
I wasn't trying to instigate any kind of race bashing at all - that's not my style. My only experience of Islam is through what I've read and watched on television - so please correct me if I'm mistaken. My understanding is that a Muslim's first loyalty will always be to Islam rather than to the country in which he is resident - whether he be a fundamentalist , terrorist or not. Agent Smith
Hurdy, my comments were not aimed at anyone in particular, I would send a private PM if that were the case, but simply a general warning regarding the course of the thread. :D Several topics recently on this "type" of subject have become quite heated.Mr. M. pwp
i to can only go off what i read in the paper or see on television.and when watching coverage of the afganistan war one of the afganistan generals was asked why the village people were not assisting the americans,he replied that they would rather support the taliban as they were muslim. as for the eight in custody it will pobably turn out that they are poor pakistani farmers just buying fertilizer for there window boxes and the police will release them without charge.they will then go on to sue the goverment for millions.
Tankus
Well we had the original medieval package holidays (crusades) to the costa's which eventually kicked the Moors out of Spain ...but were well over that ....but some on the losing side are still not ...But I can see how Christian missionaries could be viewed ....Pray with us, convert , because we can cure you ( medical technology ,)and feed you (US and Euro-land subsidised overproduction ) and quench you thirst (drill a well ) British muslims are just as much at risk as any other part of the London population ......]If these bombs do go off ,It will be at random in crowded places with no warning ....Looking at the track record of these fundamentalist terrorist's ...Muslims died at Bali and 9/11 , practically all the deaths in Iraq during the Shi'ite religious festival ......They should take a long hard look at the abuse of a small number of their UK mosques ...
