Scarecrow Man
OK, I know you all (at least most) do it.so my question is, which program, and why?
-pops-
I used to be a great fan of Drive Image. One day it let me down, telling me that something was wrong with it and nothing I could do would correct it. The "free" helpline now that Symantec have taken over just directs you to FAQs or pay $$$ for one to one help. Considering the cost of the program, I wasn't prepared to do that.I now use Acronis True Image. Much better all round and it works!!
nellie2
I'm glad you have asked that question.... I have been thinking of treating myself to some new imaging software for back ups and would be interested in recommendations.

christmascracker
I use Acronis True image 7 too, and I'm more than pleased with it. Never let me down yet.Easy to use from within windows. Image takes around twenty minutes to do and to restore to an image takes about ten minutes.Best thing, PC wise, that I've ever bought and I'd never be without it. bluesman821
I am also am trying to decide between Drive Image and True Image. Which one is more user friendly? For me it would need to be pretty straight forward.

For me it would need to be pretty straight forward.Acronis True Image is much friendlier than the others and dead easy to set up and use. I say that as a long time previous user of Drive Image which, for the reasons I gave above, do not now use.

Big Elf
Also look out for Acronis free versions on cover disks, I'm still using version 6 which has recovered my XP Home system twice. I would have been happy to pay for version 7 but couldn't get it to work with a hard disk on a RAID channel despite many email conversations with their technical support team.
