deuces wild
....do you take your Christmas decorations down for the season?Last Sunday (the 2nd) I took the outside lights and decorations off while my wife took down the lights and decorations off the tree, along with the various other Christmas decorations throughout the house. They are all up in the attic now waiting to be put up next Thanksgiving weekend.I know some folk that take down the decorations the day after Christmas (I don't understand why) and as late as mid January. How about you? -pops-
Don't forget to put all your old Christmas cards in the charity collection boxes at the larger stores.
andsome
I would happily have taken ours down last Sunday, but this is the one and only thing that 'Er indoors is superstitious about, so it has the be the twelfth day.

How does that work over there? What good do the old cards do?There has been an arrangement for many years now in the UK where old cards are collected by the big stores and given to charity organisations ostensibly for the severely disabled and patients in care to make new cards from the old ones. Some collection points even name the charity they are going to.Now, I admit I've never seen one of these regenerated cards and I don't know anyone who has either so, what actually happens to them, I have no idea but, the collections go on. :)

deuces wild
I bet the house seems bigger now andsome. Ours always does, especially after we take down the tree.
andsome
Just finished the job now.We use an artificial tree, bought about ten years ago. At the time I wanted to buy the next size down, but 'Er indoors insisted that we had loads of room. It really is far too big, I always have to move my chair as far to the right as possible, and then lean slightly to the right to see all the TV properly. I love Christmas, but it's a relief when the tree goes back into the loft.
