nellie2 Posted February 3, 2005 Report Share Posted February 3, 2005 I was looking out of the bedroom window into my garden yesterday and noticed two robins taking a great interest in the nesting box :) The frogs have started to appear in the pond, getting ready for their yearly orgy, I have snowdrops in flower and my camelia is blooming away like mad, some crocus's are up and the daffs are nearly there too.I like this time of year... amongst all the darkness and drearyness there is a promise of new things starting and a new beginning. -pops- Posted February 3, 2005 Report Share Posted February 3, 2005 I'm surprised how few spring bulbs are showing themselves in my garden. If I search hard, they can be seen but not nearly as advanced at I would have expected considering how mild it's been.An exception is a clump of crocuses growing out of the gravel on my drive. Several years ago, I dropped a crocus corm on the drive as I was planting them out. With the drive being gravel, I couldn't find the dropped corm. Since then, it has grown and grown such that now there are fifteen flower heads making their appearance. I don't have the heart to move them after they've put up what must have been something of a struggle to grow at all. Getting back to Bush, I even remember words to the effect a few months ago, that logging was good, because it helps to reduce the number of forest fires.
