andsome
Adaware informs me that definitions dated 07-04-05 are available. The download appears to go normally but 01-04-05 definitions still shown as installed. I can go through the same procedure any number of times with the same result. I have tried downloading and installing the definitions manually, but then I end up with two definition folders showing in the program, both dated 01-04-05. I have tried deleting the definitions and then downloading and installing the new ones, but the program STILL shows definitions for 01-04-05 as installed. I have uninstalled the program completely, run crap cleaner and RegScrub XP. I have opened regedit and checked, and there are NO references to Adaware in the registry. A completely new install is then carried out and still the definitions show as 01-04-05. I have sent an e-mail to Lavasoft via the helpline on the website, but do not know whether they will answer me as I use the free version. Version installed is SE Personal 1.05. I cannot think of anything else to do, as as far as I am concerned I have completely cleared the program from my computer, before reinstalling it. -pops-
I'm thinking this is a problem with your ISP not updating whatever it is they update to serve these things to you.I think you have discussed this before. Well, I went to a friend's place yesterday and tried to do his updates for him (he's not a computer buff by any means and relies on me to keep his system in order). Anyway, Spybot updated, SWB updated, CCleaner updated, a² updated, AVG is set to autopilot so no problem there but, would AdAware update? Would it rub a dub! Like yours, andsome, it stubbornly remained on the 1st's update and refused to go further. This friend is on NTL which I seem to remember you are, andsome.Perhaps should have added, my own machines updated without any problem as did all of my son's business machines. andsome
I have had a problem before with NTL being behind, but have always downloaded manually from Lavasoft. As said above this will not work this morning. I downloaded the new definitions, and right click the zip file, in properties it says 08-04-05. When I unzip, the unzipped defs are dated 01-04-05, and install as this date also. I have to go out now for the day, if anyone gets any ideas, I will be online later. Bear in mind that I cleared the program completely from my computer before installing it again.

andsome
Just had another try, doing exactly as reported before, cleaning out the complete program and reinstalling. This time I opened the program in Windows Explorer and deleted the definition file, before I opened the program on the desktop. I downloaded the new definition files and unzipped them into the program and lo and behold at last everything is OK.

Sparks
I could not update yesterday and I'm also with NTL. thought I'd leave it to see the outcome of this post. Tried again today and was successful first time, I think the morel of this is leave it and try at a later time or date. :)

JesseJ1935
I had the same problem, all weekend, and I'm not with NTL. Tried again today and no trouble at all so, conclusion, the problem was at the other end, i.e. at Lavasoft. At least, I hope so.
