Tony Posted April 9, 2005 Report Share Posted April 9, 2005 Hi allA friend of mine, who is not all that wise to computers, i feel may of been had.He has a new win 2000 system, which as he said seemed to be running fine, he has Avast, Adaware SE, Kerio FW (paid for) & S&D installed on his system.While browsing the other day he got a pop-up saying that his computer will crash in a couple of days, click here to download a program to stop this.So he downloaded the said program and installed and ran it, and guess what, it did it's job, his system did not crash, so he thought this is good, so went along and paid £ 38 pound for the full program.The program is hereNow i don't know if this program is ok or not, but i don't think much of there selling tactics.Do any of you know this program, do you know if it is ok or not, it does seem legit, as for when he paid for it they sent him a Serial Key which unlocked it to the full version.After talking to a couple of us in the pub last night he feels a bit of a tit.Can we put his mind at restThanksTony Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Many so called Spyware programs also find false positives in order for a person to be scared into paying for the full expensive version.
