Neo Planet Server Upgrade V2

Recommended Posts

Neo Planet will be moving to a new server tonight (and hopefully this will be the final move).

Once the transfer starts, Neo Planet will be taken offline, and a page put up with the IP address that you can reach it via.

Once the transfer is successful, the DNS will be updated to point to the new IP.

Everyone should be able to access Neo Planet throughout the transfer.

Regards,

Craig

The majority of the new server settings are in place, just trying to iron out an FTP bug at the moment.

Some domains have already transferred to the new server, which is a good sign.

It seem that the DNS update service has speeded up somewhat over the past couple of months, and now, any DNS change is usually processed within 30 minutes, however ISP's still seem to lag a little.

Progress Report.

All issues have been resolved, and all sites with the exception of Neo Planet have been transferred.

If all goes well, Neo Planet will be transferred tomorrow evening around 2100.

Server upgrade complete :)

DNS shall be pointed to the new server within the next 36 hours.

All aspects of email, including forum, pop3 and webmail should be online and working by Saturday.

Seems to be OK except for DNS not yet updated ?

I have just amended them to point at this server. If you use a proxy or live in the USA, the change should take affect within the next 30 minutes, otherwise, the change will take affect by tomorrow lunchtime.

A minor prob. craig. your last 2 posts re: webmail and this one, in-spits of reading them several times, when I click on screen refresh still show the double chevrons indicating that I haven't read them. Hasn't happened with any og the other threads I've read today.

PS. now happened with Nels post re: daddy's birthsay.

Don't know what's happened but it seems to be working now. You replaced the fuse craig?
