deuces wild
BRISBANE, Australia (AP) -- A French woman who is terrified of flying admitted in an Australian court Monday that she drunkenly tried to open an airplane door mid-flight to smoke a cigarette. Sadrine Helene Sellies, 34, was placed on a good behavior bond after pleading guilty in Brisbane Magistrates Court to endangering the safety of an aircraft. Sellies was traveling on a Cathay Pacific flight from Hong Kong to the east coast city of Brisbane on Saturday when the incident occurred at the start of a three-week Australian vacation with her husband, the court heard. She walked toward one of the aircraft's emergency exits with an unlit cigarette and a lighter in her hand and began tampering with the door, prosecutors said. But a flight attendant intervened and took Sellies back to her seat. http://tinyurl.com/baqca Those darn French folks....... :roflmao:

-pops-
Behaviour like that isn't, unfortunately, reserved for the French. Some incidents that my son in law relates to me makes me wonder how he dare get on to an aircraft, never mind drive the thing. This is just one singled out from many, many occurences that happen on an almost daily basis. Fortunately, the doors cannot be opened in flight so there is no immediate danger there but just the fact of being intoxicated and misbehaving is an inherent danger to an aircraft in flight. Wrist and ankle restraints (large nylon cable ties) are now standard flight inventory with many airlines.

lester1
Ooh, la, la! ( It didn't mention, artist, whether she was blonde ) Thos. If she had been a Blonde she would have went up to the pilot first to find out which way the wind was blowing so that she could shield her lighter. ;)
