Both are safe to give out, as you require a PIN to access the account.I would NOT recomend doing this though. PayPal is easy and fast to set up. mark2 Posted November 23, 2005 Report Share Posted November 23, 2005 I only accept paypal when selling on ebay, cheques, PO and money orders are relatively easy to forge (with the right equipment) and can take a long time to be returned as fraudulent. Alan2273 Posted November 24, 2005 Report Share Posted November 24, 2005 I have always used PayPal, if they do not have a PayPal account I will accept a cheque, but they are told untill it clears the goods will not be sent.I lost £550 about twelve months ago through a private sale as the cheque was stolen and I let the goods go before it was cleared so be careful. You can check with your bank after that time and they will tell you if it has cleared. I have NEVER known a cheque to take any where near to thirty days to clear.
