Nothing against its ability, I just hate the "building site" black and yellow interface which seems to appear too often. Well, it did when I had it installed in the past.I had Agnitum Outpost once as well but that played up for me (can't remember the detail) so that's towards the bottom of the list.I wonder if Symantec are gradually buying out all of the free security software? Well, it did when I had it installed in the past.One of the few times our opinions differ pops. I love ZoneAlarm's firewall product, although I will admit the interface is a bit annoying. Though, it doesn't really popup uninvited very often. I reccomend it on every spyware/virus ridden computer I repair (bit bad for repeat business though :huh: )I'd reccomend installing and trying it out andsome. You might like it... I have already had a reply from them, and they suggest that I look at Zone Alarm and Outpost. It looks as though I may have to consider the interface that irritates you pops. I have downloaded this one together with Outpost Free and Zone Alarm. They are all in My downloads folder. I will try them out one at a time for a few days. Sygate is still in My Downloads, so I can always revert to that if I want. I like Sygate, and will probably go back to it until such time as I get a problem and need help, then I will uninstall it. Who has tried both, and what is your opinion?PS It is Zone Alarm free that I am using.I used to use Zone Alarm but it conflicted with a program called BigFix which was pre-installed by Evesham Computers.So I uninstalled both of them and installed Kerio which has been fine. Unfortunately that, too, is being discontinued as a free program, I believe, and I am looking for a new, free firewall. I'll probably give Zone Alarm another go in view of all your comments.Thos. r4may Posted December 3, 2005 Report Share Posted December 3, 2005 Well I'm staying with Norton (Symantec) as I've never had any problems with the Anti-Virus or Internet Security.They both inform me of anything dodgy and stop or delete it.
