Different size coloured fonts

I am still unable to use different sized fonts in colour in replies properly in this forum, without using a third party tool as suggested by Nellie. If the colour works, and it doesn't always, than I am likely to get small letters after to posting, as below. Is anyone else getting the problem? It has only been like it for a week or two.

There is no opening b nor u, and your closing b and u have no preceeding forward slash /

You need to make sure that the BBCode begin and end tags are matched. Usually this happens automatically, but sometimes, when you use too many at the same time, they get messed up.

Use Preview to see what you get, then correct the messed up BBCode tags. Examples below:

Well, it looks like I have proven Andsome's point; even if all the tags are perfectly matched, the text is not always correctly displayed...

I will highlight the text that I want to change in this example. Then will click onto Font and change it to one of my choice. Next I will click onto size and set this. Following this I will click 'B', then 'I', than U underlined, then A and select a colour. This is what I always have done with 100% success in the past, but it does not work for the last week or two. I can get clolour if I leave the font setting alone, but sometimes I only get black if I change the font.

In the above I only wanted HERE WE GO to be blue, and that is what I highlighted. IT IS CLEARLY BROKEN.

I don't know for certain but I think it may be to do with the order you put the tags?

I haven't got a clue which order they have to be in though.

I always have and still do, put them in from left to right, top line first. It always worked until recently.

What I mean is at the start of the sentence, should you put (say) before or or or does the tag order make no difference?

It makes no difference, as long as the open and close tags all match... the close ones go in the reverse order from the open ones. For instance, if you have this:

[font=Arial][color=#FF0000][size=2][b][u]

then after the text, this:

[/u][/b][/size][/color][/font]

Bit far fetched but, I wonder if your problem could be NTL related, andsome?

I know you have some odd happenings with other aspects of their service (like Ad-Aware not updating properly etc.)

I agree. All this helps (me, at any rate) with the learning curve, even if subsequently, I may not use it very much.

I dobt whether NTL would affect the forum. I believe that Nellie uses NTL. It always worked without fail up until a week or two ago. I just did as I have already posted. Highlighted whatever I wanted to show in a different font, or colour etc, and then work from left to right and top left to bottom right. It seems to be more troublesome if I change the font as then I only get a black result. It appears also from some of the above posts that others also get the odd problem.

This should be in red, with the standard default font, the above main posting should be in black

This should be green, large, standard font. You can see what I mean.

As I said. I click from left to right and top to bottom, exactly as I have always done.
