artist
MODERN METHODS (1923)The Importance of early training. An overlooked point is the importance of early training fir girls in good housekeeping. It does not matter what the girl is going to do in later life, she is handicapped unless she knows how to keep house. On no account should good housekeeping be presented as a drudgery, but as a real and exciting achievement. Pleasure in doing this is a matter of clever suggestion. Many girls have been turned against domestic acclomplishments for life by being forced to do housework, needlework or cookery as very dull lessons – instead of having these things made to appear so interesting that they ask to be allowed to do them. It is important that they learn to do these things properly from the beginning instead of allowing ship-shop habits to start.I bought a huge book (1450 pages) from a boot sale a few years ago - it is endlessly interesting. Few pics posted in the gallery too.
