Is it justified ? Depends on your point of view, if you just want a bare bones pdf reader then the answer is no, but the project is funded by sales of the pro version and that I suspect is driven by user/client surveys and people wanting the kitchen sink approach and the new product with new features regardless of whether or not they ever use them.

I prefer the more focused approach which is why I stopped updating Foxit some time ago.

The shame about the Foxit reader improvements is that with each iteration it gets more bloated and closed to Adobe reader, when this thread started it was 1.2Mb, it now weighs in at 11.6 , the justification for using it gets less with each new version.

I now use this :-
