If you follow a lot of the links that have been posted here, you will see unfortunately that this country is well and truly on its way to the dogs. The NHS is in free-fall due to gross mismanagement. Civil liberties will go out of the door with this new identity card scheme, if you read up on the subject, it will go further than any other I.D.card scheme in the world. I don't want to hark back too much, but since B'liar and his mob have been in power the slide down hill has accelerated at an alarming rate.

Its a funny ol game..... Spain is an up and coming country, changed to the good economically even since I have been here, but is rife with mismanagement and corruption.

Marbella council springs to mind, 20 arrested and nine are still in jail, this is a new council to take over from the ones arrested last year :D

So I think whatever country and whoever is in power, they will only look after themselves the only difference is it seems harder to get caught at it in the UK.

Our appalling judicial system where the offenders get more considerationthan the victims

Traffic offences taking precedence over serious crime

The hike in Council tax and lack of relief for the elderly and infirm

Snout in the trough public workers

The march of the PC brigade and all their nonsenses

Open borders and the continuing influx of illegal immigrants

The damage being done by travellers and them flouting the law unheeded.

The lack of and proper application of sensible planning laws

The scandal of the pensions crisis and the greed of certain public workers

The collapse of our manufacturing industries or sale to foreign buyers. We are about to lose our only major aircraft manufacturer and our stake in Airbus ias an example

The power of the supermarket and its effect on small traders

A sign of this is the popularity of repeats on satellite channels of classics like Open all hours, Only fools and horses, etc etc. They are well worth a look in the absence of GOOD new material, and are STILL funny after all these years. The so called comedy now produced seems to consist mainly of pulling stupid faces, farting and belching, shouting and jumping about all over the place. There is a complete lack of good character actors. Another very good point is the march of PC. The BBC are particularly to blame for this, plus of course loony left wing councils. The proliferation of so called reality TV is a real dumbing down, and needs stopping in its tracks.

For goodness sake, she has been off the scene for many years now. How the hell can she be to blame for what this lot are doing to us? You may as well say that it's all the fault of Ramsey McDonald. Get into the real world as it exists today under B'liar. LABOUR and LABOUR alone are to blame for what LABOUR are doing.

PS. We could always of course blame all todays problems on Clem Attlee's government. It makes much the same sense as blaming Maggie.

The truth hurts B'liars supporters doesn't it? Try facing facts as they exist. I have NEVER claimed that the last Tory government was as pure and clean as B'liar claimed that this lot was going to be. There was FAR too much sleaze, and I have always acknowledged this fact. Now how about the B'liar supporters on here admitting that out little cherub is also NO WHERE near as clean as he claimed that he would be. Or is he in fact as pure as the driven snow??? :lol: :lol:

I am happy to come out of the cupboard and admit that I was one of the disillusioned tory supporters who helped Blair and his cronies into office.

I don't think it was a mistake - the conservatives had lost their way at the time and labour offered a new start. Economically Labour have done quite well - but in most other respects they have failed to fulfill their promises.

I personally do not share the view that the NHS is as bad as it is painted - but that is from personal experience. In 2004 my late wife suffered from terminal lung cancer for just over a year and received magnificent care - including the NHS hospice in her final days. I have had a couple of operations at NHS hospitals and cannot complain about my treatment - perhaps I have been lucky - but I can only speak as I find.

Labour have now lost there way and it is clear that we need a change. Swapping Brown for Blair will not do it - we need a totally new direction and it is only the conservatives that can provide this - provided that they continue on their present path and avoid future in-fighting.

It seems to be the case that all governments last only so long before avarice supplants service and we the population take second place. Labour have had their turn and have run out of steam - we need a fresh approach.

I am not a labour supporter, and do not think that they are right in what they do, but I do know that your hero Maggie ran the schools, NHS and everything else down into the ground so far that it is going to take allot more time than we have had to undo the mess she left behind. That dose't mean that Labour are doing a good job but they have allot of crap to clean up.

Not being a Christian (born again or olde style) I do not have the rose tinted spectacles that seem to be necessary in order to view the world as I should as a pre requisite to gain entry through the pearly gates.

Not adhering to any form of religion my mind is as free of hypnotic bias as I can hope for.

Not being a capitalist (Conservative) I am able to view the short comings of that school of thought in a non partisan manner.

Not being a socialist (Labour) I am able to view the short comings of that school of thought in a non partisan manner.

Not being a pansy (Liberal) I am able to view the short comings of that school of thought in a non partisan manner.

What I see is in no way, shape or form anything like the "promised land" of any political party or religion of which I have ever heard.

The world has millions and millions of good (but gullible) people. Unfortunately in politics and religion, as with sewage, the scum rises to the top. Gradually as more is learned about the workings of politics and religion the real corruption and deciet is being unearthed.

What surprises me is how, with all the daily revelations of mismanagement, dishonesty and downright incompetence anyone, even with the darkest rose tinted "shades" could possibly be

Lot of sense here in both posts. As far as Maggie is concerned, she is history, and has little or nothing to do with todays predicament. She had a lot to put right as left behind by the previous Labour administration. I am glad that Alan and his wife had good treatment in the NHS, as many thousands of others have also had. However this excellent treatment was at the hands of the carers, and it is NOT their fault that management from the top downward is so utterly bad. Hence todays NHS crisis. It is awful that at a time that we need more carers, that due to mismanagement, so many of these carers are now loosing their jobs, so that books can be balanced and the moguls at the top can keep their jobs. By the way Maggie is NOT a hero or even a heroin of mine. She did a lot of good followed by a fair bit of bad when she lost her way.

What make you think that they are my beloved Tories? As I have said on many occasions, the previous Tory administration was corrupt, but so is this so called lily white administration. I voted Tory last time NOT and I stress NOT, because I thought that the sun shone out of their backsides, but because we have an EXCELLENT MP. He has one of the best attendance and voting records in the House of Commons, and is an excellent constituency MP, with the interests of our community very much at heart. Unlike some forum members, I am NOT totally biased toward one particular party. I am strongly disillusioned with politics in general. In my time I have been a member of the Labour party, the Liberal party and also the Tory party. I am fully open to persuasion by any politician that I consider to be honest. THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE THE PRESENT INCUMBENT ON No 10. As I stated earlier GET INTO THE REAL WORLD. This lot are at least, if not more corrupt than the last Tory administration. As regarding policies brought in by Labour, I would once again allow Pension fund earnings to be tax free, and I would also reinstate peps in place of Isa's. I would also appoint some people far better educated than those at present, to assist in drawing up future legislation, maybe then we would see much less poorly draughted bills which cause nothing but problems when presented to the house. I would also get rid of a large proportion of bad NHS managers, and once again re-employ carers in their place.
