Thanks to all of you!

Especially for Andsome: yesterday's raw fish was a marinated fish carpaccio with orange filet slices. That was in a Sicilian restaurant, served by a young Japanese chef who just came back from a 3½ year stint in Sicily. Even my British friend who would never go near raw fish tried a slice. (Or maybe it was just some orange).

It was good! And so were the gnocchi with smoked swordfish and cabbage. And the shrimp & rosemary risotto, as well as the deep-fried ray fins!

This was my first visit to a Sicilian restaurant; I was surprised - it is very different from any other Italian food. I guess their history has provided them with a unique culture and cuisine.

I shall go again :flowers:

Glad you enjoyed your meal. I once had a meal in an Italian restaurant in the German town of Reutlingen. That was Octopus in a tomato sauce. BUT, it was cooked.
