I learned my lesson after "Chariots of Fire". Since then I rely on opinions of folks like you and me.....'non movie reviewers' who have seen the film. Obviously as you grow older your hearing will not be as sensitive as when you are younger, but I am certainly NOT deaf, and the volume is always quite ridiculous. It's just a totally new experience. You book your tickets from home - including seat selection. The seats are huge, comfortable, and lots of leg room. The Premier Cinema cost double, but the seats are First Class, reclining, and have a table between each chair (for the free Champagne, of course).It has really changed the whole experience! I found the film rather boring and ponderous - perhaps because I read the book a couple of years ago which I found fascinating.My own conclusion is - don't bother to see the film if you have read the book - especially if, like me, you read the fully illustrated hardback version. The lord of the rings films were not as good as the book, as they deviated to far away. Have not seen the Da Vinci Code yet but reading this it dose not follow the book very well.
