Suddenly, after having been scrutinised before and after races for something like a full seasonsworth of racing, the teams are told of a device which is "not in line with the regs." Why has it been acceptable up to now? It also sounded towards the end of the race that Renault (and presumably the others) would be allowed to replace it. Has this got anything to do with the possibility that it might help Ferrari/Schumacher who suddenly look as though they might win the championship given some luck/help?A guarded comment from Ross Braun before the race was odd. When asked something like "what he thought their strategy would be for the rest of the season" he smiled and words to the effect that they would "just have to see what developed", and smiled his odd smile.I suspect F1 has lost its way. It is beginning to look like an Ecclestone/Mosely/Ferrari benefit operation, now that the possibility of a break away series has been scuppered, and they have managed to tie down those who were threatening to walk away.Might now be a suitable opportunity to appoint a minister for motor racing. Much more entertaining with lots of overtaking and nudging each other.There is too much money in F1 for the powers that be - whoever they are - to not orchestrate things. Some say yes, other maybe. Hope somebody makes their mind up soon.I'd rather watch Mansell and Fitipaldi in the veterans series anyway. Though it was well established on the Renaults, other teams also had it. And, incidentally, I cannot see how it could be called an "aerodynamic aid" anyway.I couldn't watch it live yesterday but have just seen the recording I made. Whatever happened to overtaking?For exciting racing with plenty of action watch any Superbike race, not the continual procession of cars in F1, where races are won in the pits, not on the track.
