Since adding my previous post to this topic I wanted to download a map from the internet. I had not had my printer connected the this Linux machine, other than to run a printer check after I installed Fedora Core. On that occasion all I did was plug it in and it ran the printer check with no trouble. Since then management has been printing photographs with it on the W98SE machine in the other room. So, I hoped I would be able to just unplug the USB connection, move it and replug into Linux. I could, and it just worked wlth nothing to do other than click the "print" button on the multimap screen. Absolutely astonishing. I am beginning to like Linux. On top of that you will be getting free updates for its cycle.Most people will obtain Vista through buying a new PC and from what I've seen and partly experienced, a new PC [Vista Ready] PC is the way to go...Linux has been around for yonks and I don't see everyone rushing to get it....all 1.7xillion incarnations.*Whatever it will be.
