Thos Posted September 10, 2006 Report Share Posted September 10, 2006 I was hoping right up to the last minute that he would not retire but the obvious replacement of him with Raikkenon and the need to persevere with Massa meant that there was little option. Early in his career Senna effectively ended the F1 career of Martin Donnelly when he refused to have an equally talented driver in the same team, when he took Prost off at Suzuka he showed his sportsmanship and ruthlessness in his desire to win.Senna and Prost whilst teammates remained the greatest of enemies until Prost's retirement.Schumacher learned from the master himself and put the same ideas into practice. Jean Alesi was another. I loved to see him in a car.I heard Stirling Moss had said it was "ridiculous" to place Schumacher among the greats of motor racing. Jackie Stewart was more realistic saying he was a great champion and was the making of the present Ferrari domination but he was flawed because of his determination on track.Thos. We have greenfies in the greenhouse, and cowshit flies in the field over the hedge. We sometmes get house flies in the house, but button flies are a new species to me.
