This works fairly well but this morning I received:1. A large glossy catalogue from the Sunday Times Wine Club telling me I could save £50 on their offers. Some of you may know that I don't drink any alcohol.2. An offer from two credit cards companies to take up their incredible "interest free for six months" credit card. One saying that "A person like you with a very active lifestyle" and showed a picture of a bimbo and a himbo on skis. I wasn't in my wheelchair at the time but I could have been. The other showed two women jogging and some fool of a man hanging on to one of their feet being dragged along the road. I suppose by a very wild stretch of the imagination and considering my lack of walking ability, there could have been some relevance there but, I'm doubtful. I have now removed my fax machine from service - it was costing too much in paper with spam messages.In a seperate thread I mentioned spam text messages on my home phone. I wrote to the TPS about it and yesterday received a letter advising me that texts are not covered and there is no "preference "service that covers them.My mobile phone can be a real pain with all the spam mesages I receive. Virtually all of them from companies from which we have never bought anything. Just out of curiosity I have kept them and weighed them. Yesterday I put nearly 4lbs (were still use proper measure here) of the stuff in the blue wheelie bin.Anothe batch arrived this morming!The thing I find very dischuffing about it is that before long, if bumbledom gets its way, we will have to pay even more money out for it to be taken off our hands. D4\/!d Posted October 20, 2006 Report Share Posted October 20, 2006 ...and on top top of all that, the front door letter box rattles at least four times a day with pizza, Indian, antiques, roof repairs, you name it, leaflets. It goes on all day, one after the other. The latest is Polish folk looking for cleaning/gardening jobs. Trouble is the green paper waste collection crate, that sits under the letter box, gets in the way when you want to go in and out the house..!! :)Do you get this nuisance where you live..?? I also get irritated these days on the amount of loose leaf rubbish inserted into papers. We only buy one paper, and that is the Radio Times, and it is packed with loose leaf rubbish that ends up in the recycling bin. We are happy to read adverts if we are interested in the topic, if they are on the pages of the paper, but anything loose is an irritant to be disposed of. The free newspapers are all just as bad.. It makes it difficult to flick through the magazine. The Tiscali CD is a nightmare in some computer magazines and I regularly tear the page when removing it and thus spoil an interesting article overleaf.
