Windows Forum Upgraded

All,

Sorry for the prolonged downtime this morning / afternoon.

We have been successful in upgrading the forum to the latest version available from Invision.

With the latest upgrade you will not just see changes, but see everything run a lot smoother than before (rather than rant about the changes, I let you find them!).

The Windows Forum skin will return in the new year once it has been updated, and later on today a new Winter themed skin will be made available.

Thats it for now.

Craig

I find I cannot navigate around. Every change of page and I am required to log in again. It is very disconcerting and time consuming. Will it mend?

Thos, could you delete your cookies and login again.

This board is using a new stronger type of cookie with is now location specific.

I believe the only time this will cause problems is when your are sitting behind a proxy server and your IP keeps changing. The symptoms of this will be having to login on every page.

Let me know if the above works or not.

I am intruigued that, despite my having posted to this thread, I have not had mail notifcations about the above replies?

I will check to see if the email schedules have been changed behind the scenes.

I have also disabled the advanced cookie encryption to see if this resolved Thos' problem.

Seems to be OK now. Thanks, I hope it will stay that way. Gotta go.

Thos.

The SQL database is getting hammered, not sure why.

I have enabled a critical threshold, so if the load rises above a certain level, you will get a "server busy" message, rather than it doing a nasty looking timeout.
