I'm here ....just.

We've had management's father here visiting. What a pantomime.

Her brother is over from Spain and so he thought he would bring the old chap over ("It might be his last time you know",) He is knocking on for a ripe 92.

So they came and sat around for a while chatting and eating, and eventually set off to do the 75 mile return trip.

They had been gone about an hour when what should management espy on the setee but her brothers mobile 'phone. Now he is due to go back to Spain on Wednesday and to send it back to her father's, where he is staying, would really need recorded delivery, and the Post Office in the village is closed until Monday. Could Royal Mail get it there before he left on Wednesday morning? We did not really know what to do.

Suddenly his mobile 'phone rang. Then it stopped. Then the house 'phone rang. It was her brother on his other mobile asking if we had just heard his other 'phone ring, because he suddenly realised he had not picked it up.

However we had to set off with the 'phone in our posession and find brother and father who would be coming back to meet us. We did eventually meet up on a roundabout crossing the A1M. Not a good place park.

By this time the old chap is getting a bit fed up (not an uncommon occurence) and tutting and chuntering like nobody's business. Still it would keep brother Peter awake driving him home.

Well, what else would you have been doing!!

We had a very chilly wind here yesterday - coat job! One minute we're in the chairs in the garden, then winter comes back.

I'm here in Tenerife - soaking up the sun, enjoying a superb hotel, excellent food, good wine, lovely scenery, friendly people and great white knuckle drives on sheer drop, hairpin bend roads through the mountains.

Normal service will be resumed on Wednesday when we get home.

I've been taking advantage of this lovely sunshine for our post-holiday laundry.

Our garden faces south and is sheltered from the cold wind. Drying the washing a treat!!

We also had a visit from our delightful daughter, so we sat and enjoyed each other's company for an hour or two. :D
