We had a visitor in our back garden this evening

That's tomorrows dinner sorted then.

No... the damned thing was too quick for me. It shot up onto the shed behind the greenhouse and then up onto the top of my workshop, before coming back down and just primping and posing like a prima donna (or a politician) before finally leaving, with loud squawking, over the hedge and into the little wood beyond.

I suppose the tigers will get it.

It had travelled about three quarters of a mile just to come and visit us.

I've always said they had no sense.

Noisy creatures. Someone who lives not too far from us has some, luckily they are far enough away to be out of earshot. :D

When you look at a peacock and consider its origins, i.e. the jungles of India, originally full of predatory tigers, you can be forgiven for questioning the theory of Devine Intelligence. The only additional thing I can think of, to aid the predator, would be a 56lb weight attached to each of its feet.

Curly is still with the Tigers

Funnily enough it isn't so long since there were several reported sightings of a tiger wander about in the Tadcaster area, which is about 16 miles west of us. Perhaps it was looking for peacocks.

No fear!

I think that tigers are magnificent creatures but I would want a safe distance between me and them B)

I'm glad I don't live in the Tadcaster area :0

We bought a (very expensive) powder from a visiting gypsy which keeps tigers, and lions incidentally, away. We just sprinkle it around our garden and we never see any tigers at our house in Orpington . It is very effective, I don't know what we will do when our supply runs out.

Thos.

I have heard that it is unlucky to have peacock feathers in the house :0 so wonder what a whole bird in the garden means?

Surely you don't let superstion influence your life?. :D

I don't let superstitions rule my life but I will not walk under ladders and try to avoid the number 13 :excl:

I painted our front gate with an elephant repellant paint and that has worked like magic. Should I send you the manufacturers details, they may do your powder.

I believe it is unlucky to have peacock feathers in the house only when they are still attached to the peacock.
