Its closing in an hours time ..... heh ..we're awlright then ....!The reason why the warning s are so strongly worded .......In January 1953, the east coast of England was devastated by some of the worst flooding in recent memory. A number of extreme weather events combined to cause major flooding in areas throughout Essex, Norfolk, Suffolk, Kent and the outer Thames Estuary. 307 people died, 24,000 homes were damaged or destroyed and over 30,000 people were evacuated. I am not sure if they are practising for when they are at the trough or if it is because when they are not at the trough they are always shouting but.....If we could get all the COBRA members to the seaside they only need to stand there with their mouths only half open and the entire coast line of GB (and parts of Europe) would be as safe as the chairman's bonus.
