It seemed quite simple to me. If the second and third letters, and the fifth and sixth letters were adjacent, and all the others were equilateral, providing you had your back to the light then you were the winner of a leather medal with a tripe centre. Otherwise it was all null and void, and you either had to shake a six or apply for the Chiltern Hundreds.
