Coreper Posted September 22, 2007 Report Share Posted September 22, 2007 I'm about to buy Windows Vista Business 64-Bit and to install it into a dual-boot with windows xp [on a seperate hd]I already checked if my drivers are available for windows vista, and they all are, except for my webcam [doesnt matter]There are some other questions before i do this:1. How do I create a Windows XP and Windows Vista dual boot?2. Did I forget to check any drivers? [see what I checked @btw #1]3. Are there important things i need to know before I create this dual-boot?4. Do some of you have/know some great Windows Vista tools? [for tuning, modding and editing] [not CCleaner, i already got that ;)]Let me knowThanksSystem specs:Processor: AMD 4200+ X64 X2 [64-bit processor, dual core, 2.2 Ghz]Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-M57SLI-S4 (rev. 1.1)Graphics Cards: twice a Gigabyte nVidia 7600 GT 256MB: Gigabyte GV-NX76T256D-RHbtw #1: I checked my drivers for: my chipset [internet], audio devices, graphics cards, processor [couldnt find the Cool'N'Quiet software though...], mouse, keyboard and webcambtw #2: Would it be possible if I install the Windows XP drivers for my webcam on Windows Vista?btw #3: About the AMD Cool'N'Quiet software: where can it be found? I have looked for it a while ago, but never found it... I would like to get it for Windows XP SP2 X86 and Windows Vista X64btw #4: Is this the right section, or should this topic be moved to the Windows Vista section? nellie2 Posted September 25, 2007 Report Share Posted September 25, 2007 I am dual booting into Vista at the moment and have had no problems at allI have two hard drives and have XP in the primary partition on one and Vista in the primary partition on another. I didn't have to do anything to create a dual boot setup as the Vista install recognised another OS on my setup and now gives me a screen when I boot up that gives me the option to either boot into Vista or into an 'earlier version of windows' (XP)I can't answer your driver questions I'm afraid... Vista found everything I needed when I installed it and I have had no hardware conflicts and only a couple of software conflictsAs for Vista tools and all things Vista compatible...
