Could you not get hubby to fit some kiddies stabiliser wheels.
My daughter found some stabilisers for adult cycles on the internet!

I flatly refused to be seen like that!!

I do have my street cred to think about, you know. :0

What about a 3 wheeler then with a nice big basket on the back, a shiny black metal chain case, sit up and beg handlebars, a saddle big enough for ..............ummmm thinks......, lever rod brakes and big fat knobbly tyres. That's what you call street cred......

I bet if you asked him really nicely - catgate would build you one from all the bits and pieces left over from his recent projects.

Your Dont Dump That site seems to duplicate the Freecycle philosophy.

Do you have Freecycle in your area as well..?

I mentioned Freecycle to a neighbour who has just completed a lot of building work on his house and he had lots of materials left over. He got rid of all of it including, old planks, 2 tons of sand, some old paving slabs, some bags of gravel, part used tins of paint and a broken small electric cement mixer within 3 days of advertising. It saved him the cost and bother of a skip. The local charity shops were not interested in any of these items.

Not yet Alan. There is one listed for East Lothian which is the next County North of us but not yet one for Berwickshire.
