AlanHo
I am fed up with paying through the nose for inkjet cartridges and laser toner and have lost faith with cheap compatibles. I have decided that the way forward is to build my own printer.I have an old John Bull rubber pad printing kit left over from my childhood which would appear to be a suitable basis for the text - if only I knew how to automate it. I also have an electric motor from an old singer sewing machine , a 4 slice Tesco toaster and an A4 sized Christmas biscuit tin which could be reused in this high tech scrap heap challenge. Can someone please direct me to an online guide on how to do this (like a website or a free ebook or whatever). Thanks in advance, Please reply.PS: I will only entertain serious replies that happen to correspond exactly with my own preconceived ideas. Watchful
You seem to have had a similar childhood to my own as one of my prized possessions was a John Bull printing set which, alas, I no longer have but I still have some books with my name printed in them with my rubber stamp. Ah! happy days when life was uncomplicated, innocent and innovative.Sorry I can't help with the advice though
doug
I've got a couple of masonry chisels I could lend. Also there are a few loose rocks on the river beds up here. Do you want directions?
catgate
The one thing that I foresee as a difficulty for home construction is a diphthong thing. Modern keyboards are totally devoid of diphthongs things due to the difficulty in hewing them out of the solid (which, of course, they must be if one is to get the service out of them that is a prerequisite of any good diphthong thing).Much the same can be said for trying to utilise a shift key for stationary. Irene
You could have a word with Panarchy....He's very experienced in obtaining advice on the 'How to Build' scenario. LOOK HERE :
AlanHo
Sorry I can't help with the advice though I'm glad to see you were a fellow John Bull user - but quite disappointed that you have not saved it because I could do with some spares. My letters A and r and S and e are badly worn.Don't feel too badly about not giving advice - I wouldn't have taken it anyway.
