I received about 30 yesterday and I have received 44 so far today.There is no text in the message - it is blank - coming from +4479002966980.The messages arrive in clusters of about 10 messages each time spaced a few seconds apart.In desperation I tried calling the number but it just rings out and then cuts off without me being charged for the call. I have Googled for info - but the only information I found is that it is a Vodaphone non-premium rate number. What on earth is going on...I cannot understand why anyone, or any organisation, would send out blank text messages like this.......? Mine is a Pay As You Go, because I hardly ever make out-going calls. The only incoming texts which are not my family or friends which I receive are from my Service Provider (Orange). I never send text messages because I am useless at it - never learned the foreign language.I have received 14 more blank texts from the same number since my last posting.A friend has suggested I reply to one of the messages with the single word STOP - and if this does not work to try STOP ALL.Might be worth a go - but I will monitor my credit balance before and after to see if it costs me an extortionate sum Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I am hopeless at remembering phone numbers - especially my own - but this one is almost impossible to forget.A few years ago it was possible to go on line for a Vodaphone mobile and open a database of available numbers from which to make a choice. englishchris_aus Posted January 23, 2008 Report Share Posted January 23, 2008 i have recieved simular amounts of blank texts too.i live in australia and i was out one day and i recieved 20 to 30 blank texts from a number 0422536716and then the other day i recieved one more with an attachment. i opened it and it contained a phone book entry which was automatically added to my phone book under the name 'ash mobile'today i went to charge my phone up and it says 'charging alien battery'and worse still.... i was texting my mate, then he rang me asking if i had called him. of course, which i hadnt at all.help :( :( :( :( :( :( :( Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
