The Forum dinner party

So here is a challenge.

You are having a dinner party at home and you are to invite 5 forum members as guests - so who would you choose and why...... B)

(this assumes we all have a 6 seater table - please no bragging about mine is bigger than yours)

I would choose - in no particular order :-

Catgate - to amuse us with his wit, humour and shaggy dog stories

Artist - to bring a bit of culture and feminine grace to the table and help me learn more about Paint Shop Pro

Andsome - to sponsor lively or even acrimonious debate and provide social, party support.

Irene - because...uhm :air_kiss::flowers: ... plus we might need someone to provide some reason and calm

DW - to say grace, to get up andsome's nose and to advise us on the US view of topics discussed.

(If I had been allowed more guests I would have chosen tankus to attend - he would be great at 'Arf' time)

Making a choice of only 5 is not easy - apologies to those disappointed by not getting an invite. Your turn will come......................

Thankyou for inviting me. :flowers:

I don't want to appear to have favourites so I'm opting out of this one............

......except to say that I would definately ask Irene and Pushkin - us ladies have to stick together. I'm afraid you lot would bully me if I were on my own.

I love dinner parties.

I love cooking. :D

Alan, you certainly chose the correct position for me in "Our Government".

'Home Department' is most certainly my role. Not that I have ever filled the role of 'The little woman', but I found my career, mostly in a Man's World and environment extremely stressful and trying. Not my natural role at all.

Thank goodness for retirement.

In the past I have been hostess to many dinner parties.

So, I graciously accept your invitation and look forward to being entertained, as always, by your other guests.

My choice of guests for my first dinner party would be as follows, and in no particular order.....

artist, because she was the first person to make me feel comfortable and welcome on the forum, during a difficult time sorting out my PC.

Thos, who sadly at this present time is not posting on the forum due to extenuating circumstances, but was the person to introduce me to WF and has continued to be my friend.

Trackrat, who sorted out my CD/DVD which was stuck within my PC.

I love him for that. It was an important CD/DVD at risk... Our wedding music.

-pops-, who helped me to get through the trauma of disposing of Symantec when I first joined the forum.

Gandalph, because I thought he was Scottish and he now tells me that he is a Geordie!!

I now need to get to know him all over again.

AlanHo & andsome, because they provide me with a daily 'intercourse' on the forum.

I realise that I have extended the guests beyond the required five, but I do have an extension for the dining table. :D

Thank you Alan. I accept. However, please note that I will also bring my lovely wife and kids, who will bring their SO. I cannot travel across the pond without my family.

My wife will also bring her side of the family and to make it fair they will bring their kids and grandchildren. They have been looking forward to vising the UK.

So when can we expect our airline tickets? I trust you will be able to board all of us without any heartship on you.

I cannot wait. :flowers:

DW

I am fortunate because as landlord of the virtual pub I can use the pub's virtual restaurant, virtual booze, virtual food and charge it as a virtual business expense to avoid the virtual taxman.

You and your family are welcome to buy yourself virtual plane tickets and virtually fly over. If your family is anything like mine - you will not need to go to any virtual expense with some of the female family members if they have kept their brooms in flying condition....

I don't know what you mean by "heartship". I am very familiar with "hardship" - having experienced it first hand - and assume you are using another English americanism to confuse us.

Doh! Brain fart. My bad.

Being a mere mortal I do make my share of mistakes Alan and even have erasers on my pencils. B)

Regarding your dinner party invitation..........I will have to decline as the host is being a cheap skate.

How did we get back to the male appendage??!!!

Thankyou Irene for your comment - I always feel this place brings out the worse in me..........

I agree that 5 people is not enough - we'll all come - where was it? At your house Alan?

I'll make some tiny mince pies - seeing as it's Christmas. I'll bring some cider 'mulled wine' too. :drinks:

Would you prefer the intercourse before, or after the meal? :D

Alans original list seems fine. :D

"Inter" suggests during.

Perhaps, before, during and after!! :0

Before and after is fine, but during is out. If Alan puts on a good spread I would have to concentrate on the food, as long as he doesn't dish up any raw fish, but if Pat isn't coming, he will hopefully not subject us to that.
