AlanHo
The artist Alison Jackson has spent the past 4 years trying to find a Gordon Brown look-alike - and has failed.Ms Jackson is famed for staging provocative little vignettes featuring look-alikes of celebrities and politicians. Think David Beckham and Sven Goran Eriksson in the sauna together, or Tony Blair and George Bush horsing around. But - as has been widely reported - she is struggling to find someone who looks like Prime Minister Gordon Brown. I am not at all surprised - as I have said repeatedly in other threads where certain forum members have been very disrespectful of our great prime minister - he is unique - and trying to emulate his qualities is a fool's errand. Not many people keep taking a sharp intake of breath and sucking the inside of their bottom lip. Very irritating.

Watchful
Poor Gordon :( He's not that bad really, appearance-wise, it's just that he's gloomy and humourless. His smile, when it dares to flicker, is completely false.

Irene
Poor Gordon :( He's not that bad really, appearance-wise, it's just that he's gloomy and humourless. His smile, when it dares to flicker, is completely false. I just hate watching him speak. In a 'distant' way, I do feel sorry for him. I really don't think he stands a chance of remaining in the PM role. :( As you probably know, I am not politically inclined. Although I always use my vote (to the best of my ability) in the elections. He is very unlikely to get my 'cross' in the next election.I realise that it should not be a personality issue, but when you are not politically inclined, as many people in the country are not, it is difficult to avoid. Watchful
Correct Irene....we should not be swayed by looks or personality (I made that mistake with Blair ) It's whether they can do the job that matters B)

Irene
Correct Irene....we should not be swayed by looks or personality (I made that mistake with Blair ) It's whether they can do the job that matters B)I just find the polital scene incredibly boring. Reminds me of school playground 'stuff'... Unfortunately, the outcome has a dramatic effect on our lives! My previous statements make me feel very inadequate. I just wish I could feel differently about it all. :(
rong
You don't have to vote for any of them, if they are not going to do the job just go to the polling station and put a big cross through the paper, when enough of us do it they will have to start taking notice and cant accuse you of being complacent, my rant for today, unless another turns up. Watchful
I quite like Politics but when one of my daughters wanted to do it as a subject at college, her tutor asked, was she sure as it was like plaiting sand. She did well in it and he was a good teacher.
