Much of the software that claims to do this promises lots but delivers very little.

If it was any good, it would be a lot better known. As people don't seem very aware of it, I can only assume it is not of much use. I certainly wouldn't part with money for anything like this.

There's a lot of positive opinions of CCleaner amongst the membership here. If this BoostSpeed is similar to CCleaner then why not just use the latter and not take the risk of the unknown?

I agree. In the early years of using a computer I tried a number if products claiming to "boost speed". None of them had any effect. The main ways to stop a decline in machine performance are by preventing download of malware & spyware, ensuring you have plenty of RAM, and regular purging of pieces of left-over programmes. Oh, and I nearly forgot, not to use a Norton anti-virus programme.

According to McAfee SiteAdvisor BoostSpeed, though made by a reputable company, is offered for free downloading by some highly dubious sites. Use caution. :flowers:

BoostSpeed is sold by Auslogics - who do good free Disk + Registry de-fraggers.

I wouldn't bother paying for Boostspeed though !

IObit's Advanced Windows Care Personal is a nice simple 1-click a day free application - covers Spyware, Registry System Optimisation and Privacy - but IMHO be wary of it's automatic Junk Files + Start-up options.
