AlanHo
Due to recent budget cuts and the rising cost of electricity, gas, and oil, the light at the end of the tunnel has been turned off. I apologize for the inconvenience.Gordon Brown

AlanHo
I’m not back – but using my laptop in Spain. We had some excitement yesterday – while we were strolling along the beach front mid morning dozens of police swarmed down and forced everyone back to their hotels. ETA had issued a bomb warning by all account. We could not retrieve our hire car which I had left in the Marina car park. A bomb went off in the car park later in the afternoon but my car was 50 yards away and did not suffer any damage. All is back to normal today – you would never know it all happened. Those badly affected were innocent holidaymakers due to fly back in the afternoon. They closed the road to Malaga and the airport causing total chaos.
catgate
Well it beats candy floss.I think it's nice how the police extend the "area at risk" so as to encompass and inconvenience as many people as possible. Two light aircraft bumped into each other yesterday about five miles from Coventry airport....so they closed Coventry airport!!You only need someone to break wind in Leeds and they will close the M! and the M62 for twenty miles in each direction. AlanHo
No way would I take a laptop on holiday. Just enjoy yourself and forget about home. :DI have my reasons. The laptop is a mini one and very portable. I have my sat-nav maps loaded on the laptop and can more easily plan routes on it, then download them to the car sat-nav when touring. I can also use the hotel wifi link to google for info. This holiday was spent visiting the small villages and towns in the mountains inland from Malaga and it was a great aid to be able to get off the main roads and explore the countryside. AlanHo
yer makin me depressed ! Damn weather is making everyone depressed.Alan - did you hear about the plane crash in Spain yesterday? Nasty one........We were flying back when it happened - I didn't know about the crash until later in the evening when I had finished unpacking and chucking the washing into the machine. For me unpacking is the worst part of going away.Regarding the weather comparison - in some ways the weather here is better. At least you can wrap up warm to be comfortable. Over there it was 35 centigrade every day up in the mountains with no breeze, it is impossible to wrap up cool. You just have to swelter. We had to keep hiding in bars and cafes when not in the car to both keep cool and avoid dehydration by drinking plenty. It was awful. andsome
We all grumble about the weather her, but there is no way that I would want to emigrate to a hot climate. Just the thought of all that heat EVERY day is enough to make me sweat..Welcome back. :D :D
