Dencandy
I went to stay by the beach for a few days and broke my right shoulder and cracked e few ribs falling down a flight of stairs. No I wasn't drunk, just a little careless!I'm right-handed so that's making life a little difficult for me for a while. Will visit the forum but won't be able to write much for a few weeks. doug
Oh no not the drinking shoulder! I found typing with the left hand very troublesome. As for one's ablutions, trying to navigate round the back with the left hand by dead reconning is very difficult, you have all my sympathies. catgate
Not a very happy new year. I hope you mend quickly. The snag with these things is that the longer they go on the more the body adapts, and then the worse the unadaption becomes when all is healed up again.Good luck. Dencandy
Thank you all for your very kind messages, e-cards and good wishes. I'm strapped up in a sort of straight-jacket thing immobilising my right arm & shoulder. Learning to do things with the left hand only that normally I take for granted is an interesting learning experience, as some of you wrote. The family I live with are taking care of me wonderfully, kindness everywhere - it helps me see the best in people. Also seeing others in the hospital & clinic with much worse injuries than me helps me realise I was very lucky that all the vital organs like head, face, neck, spine, etc were unharmed.
