ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
We're going to visit Nagasaki for a few days, and should be back by Tuesday.Unfortunately (http://www.wunderground.com/global/stations/47817.html) snow and rain are in the forecast, and very warm it is not either.Nevertheless, I will pack my camera (don't forget the charger!), and hopefully I will be able to post a few pictures after my return. catgate
I seem to remember an old song (30s vintage) about Nagasaki, and the girls all chewing Tobaccy, and going Wiki Wacky Woo. If you see them and have you camera ready they may make an interesting photograph.Do have a happy time...even if you do not see them. ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Thank you all for your good wishes. It was indeed a good trip, and there was only a bit of snow on the first and the last day. We went to all the tourist spots, which involved a lot of walking. My feet still hurt...Nagasaki cuisine is - due to its historic past as the only port where foreign ships could call, and foreigners could live - is a very interesting mix of things, quite different from the rest of Japan. For some examples consult this collection http://www.at-nagasaki.jp/foreign/english/about/culture/I will probably not have time to upload any pictures until the coming weekend. Irene
Looks good enough to eat! :D Pat, I may be asking a silly question, but what is the residual effect of the radiation? Is there any?
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
We got plenty of souvenirs - that is a great tradition in Japan. For friends, colleagues, family members, etc.Various sweets made from loquats, glass ware, instant "chanpon" set, etc.For myself I only got some dried (I forgot the name), a Japanese citrus fruit typically found in Nagasaki. I will check it later at home.

catgate
Welcome back. From the look of the food in the pictures you will have eaten well and not put on a lot of weight. I find oriental food usually tates as good as it looks.(or better)
